Standards Advancement for Legal Industry Alliance (SALI) declared today at the LegalTech conference that it has fulfilled the final version of the Legal Matter Specification Standard (LMSS), designated as LMSS 1.0. This version is an important milestone in ensuring the interoperability of data on legal issues, which can help in the purchase and sale of legal services and improve the service efficiency.

“The LMSS 1.0 release speaks of the milestone for SALI standard by the hard work of the core team and the widespread support in the industry,” as Toby Brown, the SALI board member said. “It’s acceptable to see that the standard is broadly accessible in quest for legitimate advancement in the business.”

“Like other organizations, we are faced with the problem of extracting meaning from our firm-specific taxonomy,” Chris Ende, Director of Value at Goulston & Storrs, said. “We were eager to take a part in the improvement of the principal standard for portraying matters in the legitimate business and are excited to see it discharged today. This joint effort among parties over the legitimate ecosystem speaks to an earth-shattering achievement for the business regarding quality, consistency as well as transparency.”

By the last three year’s development, LMSS 1.0 gives a typical language to depicting legitimate issues free of the gatherings, in an expandable way by a wide scope of partners in the lawful business. As associations apply analytics to their legitimate information, LMSS gives a typical beginning stage to the trading of data.

Adam Stoke, LMSS Co-Chair, said, “LMSS provides a common language for greater efficiency and serves as the base for innovation. The public as well as the legitimate network would now be able to get to the standard and begin using it today.”
